Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of some Frequently Asked Questions.  (For Carnival-specific FAQs, click here for Carnival's FAQ webpage)

Are Passports Required for this cruise?

Carnival requires guests to provide proper travel documentation in order to travel.  For US Citizens, a passport is not required (but highly recommended).  However, a valid US Drivers License AND birth certificate are required.  This only applies to closed-loop cruises (which leave from and return to the same US port) going to most Bahamas and Caribbean locations by sea travel only.  All air and land travel outside the US still requires a passport.  Non-US citizens should contact  the appropriate Consulates, U.S. Embassy and U.S. Immigration office to inquire about necessary travel documentation. Carnival and Invista Travel assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.

It is recommended that all guests travel with a valid passport during their cruise. This will enable guests to fly from the U.S. to meet their ship at the first port should they miss their scheduled embarkation and allow guests that must disembark the ship before their cruise ends due to an emergency to fly back to the U.S without significant delays and complications. It is also recommended that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond completion of travel.  Contact the US Secretary of State's office to inquire about necessary travel documentation. Carnival nor Invista Travel assumes no responsibility and liability for advising guests of Immigration requirements.

Do I have to tip while on the cruise?

No.  Carnival charges a $36 per person pre-paid gratuity that covers the entire cruise so you don't have to worry about it.  This amount will automatically be added to your cruise booking.  However, you are more than welcome to adjust your gratuity amount at the end of the cruise if wish.  Although it is not required, we do recommend leaving a few extra dollars each day for your room steward and also for your dining servers.  They work very hard to take care of you every day.

Are my meals included in the cruise package?

Yes.  You'll have access to food 24/7 through the dining areas and room service.  Room service does not cost extra unless you order a speciality item that is listed on the menu as extra charge.  Also, water, tea, lemonade, and coffee are included as well.  Soft Drinks are not included, but you can purchase the Carnival Bottomless Bubbles Soda package when you get on the ship (or just pay as you go).  If you drink more than 2 soft drinks a day, we recommend getting the Bottomless Bubbles package.

What if I have to cancel?

In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your cruise, refunds, future cruise credits and cancellation penalties will be applied according to Carnival's and Invista Travel's cancellation policies.  We highly recommend purchasing our Travel Insurance so your investment is covered, especially in unforeseen circumstances.  Please contact us for more information on Travel Insurance options.
